Quick Start Guide

InformationSpace comes with a Morphic based UI for quickly creating and visualizing explorations.
In a workspace, enter:

InformationSpaceController openInWorld.

You will be presented with the following UI:(Sample values have been included here)

• Step 1: Enter in the exploration parameters and click the Explore button.
• Step 2: Enter in the visualization parameters and click the Visualize button.

For new explorations you will need the name of the log file, the name of the pattern file for the initial conditions, the number of generations you wish to render, and the size of the grid on which to run the exploration. Click the yellow Explore button to run the exploration. Note that this usually takes some time to run, so be patient.

For visualizations you will need the name of the log file, the start generation, and the end generation for the range of generations you wish to visualize. Click the red visualization button to run the Croquet OpenGL based Visualization engine with these parameters.

For animated visualization, enter the same information for Visualizations with the additional value for the number of generations you wish to see visible during an animation. Animations let you see a small part of the visualization at a time, slowly moving it down and removing old generations and showing new generations.
